Atlanta Georgia power outages | Storms on Tuesday Jan 9

ATLANTA — A dynamic storm system is bringing some severe conditions to metro Atlanta and north Georgia throughout Tuesday morning, creating some power outages along the way.  

We’ll track outages as the morning continues on, both for Georgia Power and Georgia EMC customers.

Metro Atlanta, north Georgia power outage tracking for Tuesday morning, Jan. 9

Georgia Power: Roughly 9,500 customers without power around 7:30 a.m.

Core Five metro Atlanta counties:

  • Fulton County: 1,015
  • DeKalb County: 2,756
  • Cobb County: 28
  • Gwinnett County: 73
  • Clayton County: 2,067

Other counties with high outage numbers:

  • Henry County: 519
  • Carroll County: 239
  • Bartow County: 462
  • Murray County: 555
  • Dade County: 1,443
  • Pickens County: 305
  • Pike County: 625
  • Meriwether County: 428
  • Gilmer County: 183

Georgia EMC: 22,429 outages statewide around 7:30 a.m.

  • North Georgia: 10,553
  • Metro Atlanta: 3,660
  • West Georgia: 1,564
  • Northeast Georgia: 16
  • Middle Georgia: 3,468
