The School of Arts and Sciences is the largest of the Schools at Fisher, offering degrees in over 20 undergraduate disciplines. The School is home to over 1,000 undergraduate students majoring in the humanities, natural sciences and mathematics, social sciences, and interdisciplinary studies. In addition, the School is primarily responsible for the , the program of liberal arts courses that all undergraduates take as central to their academic experience. In addition to attending graduate school in any number of disciplines, graduates of the School of Arts and Sciences pursue careers in such fields as marketing, medicine, law, broadcasting, sales, human resource management, advertising and public relations, social work, media relations, information analysis, and scientific research and analysis.
St. John Fisher University, an independent, liberal arts institution in the Catholic tradition located in Rochester, New York, seeks nominations and applications for a Program Director and Visiting Assistant Professor of Athletic Performance.
Applicants should have a demonstrated background in strength and conditioning, personal training, athletic training or associated fields. The successful candidate’s primary teaching responsibilities will focus on applied coursework in the Athletic Performance program, and will include courses in Strength & Conditioning, Speed & Agility, and Health & Wellness. These courses support students through the program as they prepare for internship placements and other applied opportunities in the field of Athletic Performance/Strength & Conditioning and have a special focus on client program construction as well as preparation for work in the field (e.g., fundamentals of business and ethics). Candidates should also be prepared to teach potential courses in Anatomy & Physiology, Nutrition/Sport Nutrition, and basic Data Analytics at the undergraduate level. Program director responsibilities include curricular planning and assessment, strategic planning, and resource management. Applicants should have earned an M.S. or Ph.D. in Exercise Science or a related field. Minimal one-year experience in the field is required. Current CSCS certification required.

Education / Experience
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Exercise Science or related field with expected completion date by Fall 2024.
- Be in good standing with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) with a current Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) certification.
- Have experience with curriculum and/or program development in a related field.
- Ability to teach a wide range of courses at the undergraduate level.
- Demonstrated ability to be an excellent teacher.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US and be available to start teaching in 2024.
