EUCLID, Ohio — Greater than two years after a person was killed within the car parking zone exterior of a Kroger in Sandy Springs, the person police say is accountable has been arrested.
Davonte Lavonne Childs, 27, was discovered hiding in Euclid, Ohio and arrested on Thursday, in line with the U.S. Marshals Service.
Euclid is situated about 10 miles exterior of Cleveland.
In August 2021, police say Childs, 35-year-old Cortney Demar White and 22-year-old Yemi Ezekiel Mabiaku met within the car parking zone for a drug deal involving “a considerable amount of marijuana.”

The U.S. Marshals workplace confirmed that Childs shot Mabiaku 5 instances within the again, resulting in his dying.
One other man was shot and suffered non-life-threatening accidents.
Officers with the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Activity Power discovered Childs at a house in Euclid and after they approached, he pointed a gun at them.
Finally, he surrendered to officers. Two weapons had been discovered inside the house.
He’s at present being held in Cleveland till he’s extradited to Fulton County.
