Tudor-themed Avondale Estates is two for two in Opendoor’s second-annual ranking of the most family-friendly U.S. cities. The Dekalb County town with the distinctive central business district ranked No. 15 in the iBuyer’s survey for the second year in a row.
Opendoor identified the best cities for families by analyzing and averaging the number of OpenStreetMap “family friendly” tags within 3 miles of all addresses in a city where Opendoor Brokerage operates. The tags include bench, community center, drinking water, garden, kindergarten, museum, park, picnic site, playground, school, swimming pool, supermarket and waste basket.
“Opendoor’s second-annual Family-Friendly Cities list celebrates cities and towns, like returning favorite Avondale Estates, that are ahead of the curve by offering family-oriented programming — like their Earth Day Sustainability Fair & Concert — and investing in outdoor spaces like Town Green to promote a healthy way of living,” Opendoor Real Estate Broker Jennifer Patchen said. “While last year’s list highlighted locales with a small-town feel and big-city perks nearby, this year’s list reflects families’ desire for community, simpler living and an opportunity to build a network of like-minded families in beautiful spaces — all of which Avondale Estates embodies.”
