Pupil taken to hospital, pair of knives discovered after combat at Atlanta highschool, district says – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — A combat at Maynard Jackson Excessive College despatched a a scholar to the hospital and prompted the varsity to go on lockdown, Atlanta Public Faculties instructed Channel 2 Motion Information.

The combat started round 8:45 a.m. and was a part of an ongoing dispute in the neighborhood, based on the district.

Lessons are happening as traditional and the varsity will stay on an inside lockdown, based on the district. Which means the scholars won’t transition between courses.

The district can also be canceling afterschool actions Friday afternoon, however no video games shall be impacted.


The scholars concerned within the combat shall be disciplined below APS scholar code of conduct and APS says it’s investigating if any prison costs shall be filed.

The district is asking dad and mom to speak to their kids this weekend about different methods to resolve conflicts.

“In the event that they want help with these conversations, we have now assets and personnel out there to assist. The security and well-being of all of our college students and staff will at all times be a prime precedence right here at Maynard Jackson and in all Atlanta Public Faculties,” the district wrote.
